The City of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety 
has established a Restaurant & Hospitality Express Permitting and Construction Process to alleviate most of the confusion involved in the restaurant permitting process. This express process does not address the Conditional Use Permits issued by The City of Los Angeles Department of City Planning. 

California State Senate Bill 731 
makes changes to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) that may make it easier for developers and business owners in the processing of Conditional Use Permits.
